Finding a suitable apartment is not an easy task, especially if you are relocating to a new city or country. The Amsterdam housing market is quite regulated and there are a lot of scams out there so in most cases you will require help from an agent to find the right match. There are many relocation agencies who can help you set up your life in the Netherlands, but for housing or apartments there are numerous specialized agencies.
First you discuss your wishes with an agent who will then select and offer you options by email or, when you are in town, through visits on site. When you have found the apartment you want, then you sign a lease, typically for 6 or 12 months, sometimes longer. The agent helps with negotations and contracts for which you usually pay up to one month commission. Also you should take into account that the owner will want a deposit of 1 or 2 months rent. The prices usually exlude utilities.

This first floor apartment on Ceintuurbaan is spacious (110m2), and divided over one and a half floors with nice details. Entrance hallway with toilet and access to well equipped kitchen. The living room is en suite, has high ceilings and at the rear there is a large balcony overlooking green gardens. The ceiling has nice ornaments and the doors have beautiful stained glass. One part of the living room can be easily turned into a second bedroom. From the living room there is a staircase to the first floor and the master bedroom, which has a walk in closet and a generous bathroom with bath, separate shower and a second toilet. A very nice apartment on Zocherstraat, facing the Vondelpark on the south side. It is a one bedroom first floor apartment with a balcony and a terrace. Stylishly furnished and recently renovated. Entry, large hallway leading to the kitchen and roofterrace. Bathroom with toilet/shower. A spacious living ensuite and a spacious bedroom with walk in closet. Wooden floors throughout the apartment. Oudezijds Achterburgwal Apartment
This apartment is located at the Oudezijds Achterburgwal. It is close to Dam square but also on the fringe of the Red Light District. Despite the neighbourhood being lively the apartment is very quiet, since it is on the top, 4th, floor. It is a total of 110m2 and fully equipped. It has magnificent views since it looks out over most of the old town (on 4 sides!) Nicely laid out there is a Living room and kitchen with 5 windows onto the canal! Study, bathroom with bath and a separate shower. There is a small terrace overlooking the cityscape (southwest). Euros 1800 per month.
