Shelter Jordaan, Amsterdam

Shelter Jordan is the only hostel in the famous Jordaan area, located in the western part of the city centre. With narrow streets and canals and beautiful 17th century houses, Jordaan remains one of Amsterdam's most attractive neighborhoods. Shelter is situated right in the middle of Jordaan, on a quiet residential street parallel to busy street of Rozengracht, which provides the tram connection and access to many snack bars.

Location
The hostel is easy to reach from Central Station (8 minutes by tram, or 15 minutes walk where you know route, of course). It is also a short walk from The Anne Frank House and just a 10 minute walk from Dam Square, Leidseplein and most of Amsterdam's main attractions.

Sleeping (single sex)
The hostel has 104 beds in clean and comfortable dorm-style rooms of 14 persons. There are separate dormitories for men and women, each of them divided into sections containing four to eight beds. (As of 2008, the hostel will also provide 4, 6 and 8-person rooms.)

Good to know...
No more curfew: hostel is open all night!. Alcohol and drugs are not allowed in and around the hostel, smoking cigarettes is possible in the courtyard. Shelter is a Christian hostel, generally that means everyone is welcome as a guest, while respecting the hostel policies and each other.

Rates
Rate per person is from 16,- EUR in off-season to 18,50 EUR in high season. Included is a warm or cold breakfast, locker (upon fully refundable deposit), bathroom, luggage storage. Bed linen charge is +2 euro.
