Hotel Pulitzer Amsterdam

This is a unique hotel, comprised of twenty-five authentic 17th and 18th century Amsterdam canal houses. Almost the whole block of houses has been rebuilt and restored to create the hotel, which therefore today feels like something of a labyrinth. The incredible maze of corridors leads you to the Pulitzer’s 230 rooms and suites.

If you like historical atmosphere, this is the place to be. Your room may seem small and your bathroom even smaller, the wooden structure of the house may feel a bit different, but this is your chance to live in an authentic old Dutch canal house with timber flooring, exposed ceiling beams, and Dutch tiled bathrooms.

The Pulitzer is located in the very center of the old town, between the Keizersgracht and the Prinsengracht. No need even to ask how far you will have to walk to the old centre, as you are in the middle of it. The Dam Square will be about 8 minutes’ walk, Anne Frank House 5 minutes away or less, the important Amsterdam museums 15 minutes away, and Schiphol airport 11 miles distant (18 kilometers).

Like almost all Old Dutch houses in the city centre, the Pulitzer hotel has several courtyards and a well maintained inside garden. Its restaurant, as well as café and a bar, complete the Old Dutch interior atmosphere. In addition, as in ages past, the Pulitzer has its own quay at the Prinsengracht and its own canal ship (built in 1902). The rest of the Pulitzer is modern – its staff works hard, and the hotel has a well equipped state of the art fitness room, interesting modern art gallery, and business centre. Wi-Fi Internet has been installed in all Executive hotel rooms as well as in all public spaces of the hotel.
