+ My friend was sick when we were staying at the amstelzicht & we had to get the doctor. They were very good to us phoning the doctor & paying him in cash as we only had credit card. I have stayed in many hotels in amsterdam but this is by far the best value for money & friendly too

+ Great location and the service was fantastic!
- The stairs up to the apartment were very narrow and steep so probably not very easy to use if you have a lot of luggage (i.e. big suitcases). The windows didn't close completely so there is a bit of a draft.

+ An excellent hotel. Great value, clean, comfortable with very friendly and professional service. Superb location right on the Amstel with a great view out the front door. Very close to Rembrandtplein, flower market and trams.
- Reception closes at 10p.m. which is not really a major problem because they can be contacted by telephone if necessary. I thought I would mention it just in case someone required a late check in.

+ General location was excellent, the room was very nice - large and clean, the hotel staff (well the two that we saw) were very friendly and helpful.
- There were two main downs sides of this hotel which were firstly, the fact that it did not serve food and, second and more importantly, we stayed in a river view room at the front of the hotel wich was very nice but the noise from the road below kept us awake most of the night.

+ the nice woman who helped us find a nice dinner restaurant.
- The bathtun leaked when using the shower, so that was a bit of a nuisance, but other than that it was clean, people were nice and the location was great.

- Department was for 4 persons and there was like two additional beds which were difficult to use. We expected fixed beds.

+ Our second stay in this hotel due to excellent location, very cosy atmosphere, wonderfully typical Amsterdam townhouse - something really enjoyable not to compare with any of those boring chain hotels. Helpful and friendly staff. Good connections just anywhere and still nicely quiet surroundings.
- The bill of the minibar was not counted correctly, probably due to lacking knowledge of English?

+ The night staff(I think his name was Rueben) was terrific. He was filled with great recommendations and suggesstions. The room was beautiful and the view over the canal was the most romantic view of the city. The rooms were decorated well and the bathrooms were clean and easy to use!
- The room was defnitely dusty. The carpet needed a good cleaning, I was having asthma attacks every night. Only some of the staff was very helpful. Other staff members seemed like they couldn't care less(morning staff). As I struggled with my luggage down the winding staircase they didn't even look up.
