- we stayed in room 98 which, we were told, had only been opened approx. 3 weeks earlier, we found the room very hot, no windows could be opened and it smelled when you walked in (?the new carpet).The shower flooded so when we looked there was a lot of hair in the roster, all in all not the best experienced

+ I have stayed a number of times before (5 I believe) and just returned from two stays recently on an extended european vacation. I have been quite pleased, having referred the Avenue to others for its exceptional value, location and service, returned with a friend, alone and took my sister last year for her birthday. Very clean, fantastic location, pleasant, knowledgeable and professional desk personnel. Very clean rooms and housekeeping. Breakfast more than adequate. I am exceptionally pleased with this hotel and it's location. Couldn't say enough - you go straight to the top of my list. I travel about four or five times a year in Europe and you do very well in comparison to peers at all levels. Very nice to see you added airconditioning. I have felt very secure and safe think your hotel is ideal for men or women travelling alone.

- Please consider installing a dam in showers (will save on mess with water extending to carpet and using so many towels to block water flowing out or onto carpet, cleaning up. Also, it is something of a falling hazard with water getting everywhere from the shower.) 2. In winter the heat in common areas and rooms set way too high and I had to open window to cool down room but cannot do that at nite for sleep due to traffic sounds, so became too warm (costly to both your the fuel bill and planet as well.) Thank you for your great service.

+ Superb location: walking distance form station, Dam Sq and Red Light District but still surprisingly quiet! Breakfast was good, wide selection of cheese, bread, cereal, you name it! Price for room was rather good, I was expecting a more basic room and was pleasantly surprised to find out that the room was actually big, comfortable, clean and with a lovely view! I would definitey recommend this lovely hotel.

- Just to be fussy....no toaster in breakfast room! Receptionists were never rude but they seemed quite unfriendly. Might just be me being paranoid though.

+ Fantastic Location

- Single Rooms are so small like a broom cupboard, has a shower with a hole in the bathroom floor, so every time you shower the whole en-suite room floods! Asked for a room with a bath in advance, this request was NOT honoured. Breakfast food was only lukewarm and not worth bothering with, the hotel staff don’t seem to care very much about your comments. The only good point of this hotel is its location. I would NOT stay again!

+ Very helpfull staff, located in the city center very close to touristic places, public transport,everywhere.Free Internet is a big plus.Breakfast is fine . You will be very pleased

- There were no drapes in the shower, which lead to that the bathroom floor is flooded every time you use the shower. There is no drainage in the bathroom floor either.

+ The breakfast was great--lots of choice. Front desk personnel were friendly and helpful. Location is walking distance from train station, although the hotel is on a busy street.

- Not typical,I'm sure, but when we arrived at our room in the evening, it had not been cleaned or made up from the previous occupants. Apparently, one of the cleanup crew had been fired that day and didn't let the hotel know that he/she hadn't cleaned the room. The hotel found another, smaller room for us (which was clean), but the AC wasn't working, and opening the window let in the street noise.
