- Needs a litle room refurbishment, although they look like they have started. Personally i would rather have had a decent bed & nice decor in my rooms rather than plasma tvs!!

+ Location, close to all interest points in Amsterdam and easily to reach by foot from Central Station.
- Small room, in particular the toilet, where it was impossible to take the shower or shave comfortably.
Dirty and dusty bed cover.
Very noisy.
Breakfast with limited choice: not all people in Europe eat ham and cheese at breakfast.

+ Close to everything in town. 24 hour desk. Helpful staff at the desk and at breakfast. Clean towels everyday and maid service.
- Construction outside was very noisy. the selling point online was the bar and restaurant - the bar was shut and there was no restaurant (only for breakfast). The photo online looked nothing like the actual room itself.

- I booked the hotel using a credit card, but paid in cash on arrival. However the hotel locked some amount of money on the card and did not release it.

+ The Guy on the desk was very helpful and had a great sense of humour.
- The decor in the room was a bit shabby, and the bar was only for show which was a pity.

+ Cheap and very very central, adequate breakfast.
- They don't mention the major civil engineering project going on for the next couple of years outside the front of the hotel, so don't expect to sleep beyond 7 in the morning or think that a taxi will be able to drop you off or pick you up near the hotel. Also no bar when we went it was closed because of staff theft.

Central location with easy access
- Extreme noise disturbance on both nights of my stay:
Heavy night street building activities with very loud noise after 24:00h on both nights.
Room noise from neighbour rooms after midnight and between 4:00 and 6:00 AM on both nights.
Breakfast room with loud MTV on a large screen TV
Breakfast food of poor quality.

- THE HOTEL HAVE ROOMS THAT SMELS VERY BAD AND NOBODY CAN STAY DURING A LONG TIME IN THOSE ROOMS. DONT STAY IN ROOM 29.

+ The location is really good and close to shopping, pubs and also public transportation.
- As we stayd in the beginning of November I think there should be heating in the rooms. On the final day we got it! Also the construction works in front of the hotel doesn´t let You sleep very long.

- I was really disappointed with the hotel service, because the hotel personal gave me very small room (that room was like a box with a window, it seemed to be that they organized that room in few minutes before my arrival). I could not imagine that it could happen at the 3-star hotel. I don't speak English and I had to ask my colleagues to help me with this situation. But the impressions of the hotel was absolutely distroyed.

- Every weekday I was awakened by a jackhammer at 7:00AM. Currently there is road construction outside the hotel and for the next 5 years.

The Cordial Hotel & Bar City Centre is a cosy hotel in one of the most popular shopping areas of Amsterdam, between De Munt (cinemas, flower market) and the Dam (Royal Palace, Nieuwe Kerk, Madame Tussaud, Bijenkorf store). The ideal location for all that the city has to offer and it's all in walking distance! The guests are mainly young and of varied nationality. The hotel offers a pleasant informal atmosphere.
