+ Near the station, clean, friendly service, air conditioning (not important at this time of year, but useful at others nevertheless).
- Very uncomfortable bed, mattress protected by only a single sheet, somewhat expensive for the facilities provided.

+ fantastic location
- NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL had money stolen and staff didnt want to know about it when i requested for the room not to be cleaned for the remainder of the stay they still cleaned it. . very rude staff

+ Great location, easy walk from city centre and convenient to Central Station. Pleasant staff. Adequate breakfast - next door in the Irish Pub which thankfully had a fresh smell after the night before.Small room but clean.
- It cost £85 for a single room which is expensive - but then I suppose all city hotels are the same. No noise outside but walls are thin and doors banging were annoying one morning.

breakfast is quite ok and it is only feature which we can say 3 star.
- very small size single room it looks like grave,
very small size bed even not enough for single person,this is very poor,
no chair no table no extra space even for standing in room,
very poor quality sitting seats in lobby,

+ very close to the center of the city. Within walking distance to most attractions and those that were farther away, central station was right there. Breakfast included was also very nice.
- our room was in a basement. Looked like a storage area. the mattresses were worn out and flat, I could feel the springs from the box spring poking my back, sheets were ripped, and the pillows were really really flat. I had to use 3 just to feel comfortable. Pay TV was horrible. I didn't use it because I didn't want to pay for a basic service that should have been provided.

+ L'hotel France est très bien situé dans un rue calme d'un quartier animé d'Amsterdam. La chambre est propre et dispose de tous les éléments requis pour le voyageur. L'hotel offre gratuitement le service internet. Le petit déjeuner se prend dans un restaurant adjacant à l'hotel; un buffet des plus complet avec un service courtois.
- Vraiment rien à redire

+ Fantastic Location, 5 min safe walk to/from Central Station . Convenient to EVERYTHING!!! The quiet hotel was great. Friendly staff, great free breakfast in next door restaurant. Very clean modern room. Bathroom was very clean. Best value I've experienced in years.
- cheaper ( center) room ( that i took) didn't have window, so for those who are claustrophobic, you might want to call hotel directly, pay a little more and get front room. I left note on booking form requesting window, but when i got there , there was no room avail.

Ideally located in the very heart of amsterdam in a quiet neighbourhood facing one of Amsterdams canals. The hotel is located within short walking distance from central station (100 m) as well as very near to other city attractions: 100 m from the famous Damrak street (shopping and restaurants), 300 m from Dam square (Queens palace and Madame Tussauds) 100 m from the famous Red light district and China Town, 10 minutes direct tram to Rijksmuseum.
