+ Nice cosy atmosphere, quiet neighbourhood, good connections using public transport, some nice restaurants close by.
- Small room, but hey, so was the price.

- Breakfast buffet didn't meet our expectations. 12 euros is far too much for cold bacon and "scrumbled eggs". Otherwise excellent hotel, both the sevice and location were superb.

+ Great atmosphere. Fantastically located right next to Vondelpark in a quiet, residential neighborhood. Weather was unfortunately awful while I was there, but I would have loved to sit outside on the terrace that overlooked a pond with beautiful willows. Perfectly small boutique hotel.
- The smell of smoke is embedded in the lounge furniture, walls, etc. Some people may not mind (in a way I liked imagining the history of all the people who've come to stay at the hotel, relaxing and smoking in the lounge), but with less and less people smoking nowadays, it could be a big minus point. Shower room was quite small for a small woman like myself. I don't know how a grown man would fit in there comfortably! I was also concerned about the considerable amount of water leaking onto the bathroom floor. There isn't a significant barrier between the shower room floor and bathroom floor.

+ This hotel was in a lovely area of town and the front desk staff could not have been any friendlier. The rooms were comfortable and very "homey" feeling. It was convenient to the transportation, too. Loved it!

+ Breakfast was always very good, great views, easy walk to the tram, and friendly service.
- Tiny elevator makes it difficult to get large bags to the room. Very few late night places for food and drinks located close by.

+ Beautiful breakfast room with lovely views of the Vonder Park
- Rooms very old, decorated last in the 70's, poor quality furnishings, definately not a 4 star in British terms, more like 2 star.
