+ The room was excellent, and we enjoyed our first night there, but the second night we were disturbed through the night, by noise outside our room.
- No coffee/tea making facilities in room, and food in bar very basic and not very appetising, we ate as a party of four, and were served our food at seperate times. My meal was cooked in a lot of oil which caused me to vomit a few hours later.

+ The person at the reception was very disagreable and unkind with us.We were 4 proffessionals and we are accostumed to other teatment.
A 3 stars hotel must have a place where the guests could stay at least till midnight or more.
- The hotels is not so near to the center as it was pointed in internet.

- Walls were very dirty, it looked like a river had gone down them at some point, leaving quite bad stains on the wall. The toilet was cramped and basic, the hotel a little run down.
It was quite a distance (about 30 euro) taxi ride from the centre of Amsterdam.

- The building work taking place throughout the hotel. The builders were playing very loud music very early in the morning which disrupted both myself and my partners sleep. I perhaps wouldn't have minded so much except the music was 80s rock. Who listens to that sort of thing at 8 in the morning???!!!
We were not told about the builiding work which was taking place right out side my door. I would have liked to have had the choice of whether I would have like to stay there in review of these facts.

+ Nice courtyard .
- This hotel was not located close enough to the centrum . Also there was renovation being done to the third floor during my stay and I was on a different time schedule . Reguardless ,people like to sleep late on their vacations and I was awakened to loud banging and drills at 8 or 9 a.m. every morning . So I will not be staying there again unless there is a major discount .And 12.50 is way to much to charge your guests for breakfast .

HEM Hotel Amsterdam is perfectly located in west of the centre of Amsterdam, only 5 minutes by car from the RAI Convention Centre, World Fashion Centre and World Trade Centre.
