+ Apart from that I think the Hotel de Roode was a great hotel to stay in, recommended to anyone.
- I could have done with a run through of things in the room, or perhaps an instruction manual as I couldnt find the heating switch, but this is a minor point.
The staff weren't the friendliest but by no means were they unfriendly.
Had quite a lot of noise in the night, but what do u expect being on the Damrak, just next to Dam Square?

+ Excellent location just off Dam Square - tram stop outside the door and a very good restaurant on site. The desk staff is usually very efficient. Have never had a problem with a room in many stays.

+ Your hotel was an easy walk from the train station. We loved our room’s view from the front street balcony. I appreciated the hot teas available in the room. The staff was very helpful to answer any questions and to give directions or information about Amsterdam. We had a great experience staying with you.
