+ Very pleasent room with very comfortable funishings. A good view. Fridge in room was very useful with the water supplied, along with complimentary hot drinks in the reception.
- Small room and air conditioning unit was not finished, wires hanging untidy in the room entrance. No team and coffe in the room.

+ The hotel was very clean and well kept. and the location was terrific...only a 7 minute walk to red light district, but at the same time you were away from the heart of the action.
- the decor was very busy and made the rooom seem very small....construction woke us up at 6am the first morning and although they moved us to another room - it took some convincing. You would think they would have not put us near the construction in the first place.

+ Everything else! The hotel is lovely, one of the nicest receptions we've come across. The reception were very friendly and helpful. the room was always cleaned well. The free tea and coffee in the reception was a nice touch given that it isn't practical to provide this in the room. Lovely location, ideal for everything from Anne Frank to museums to red light district, beautifully central.
- Rooms are small but typical of the canal houses. Outweighed by the lovely location. Pity breakfast isn't included but plenty of places close by that are better value.

- Rooms are very small. Some Hotel staff slow to help. Bar is badly staffed. Double Beds are small.

+ The location is fantastic - slightly west of the centre is definitely the best location.
- Standards were pretty good but there were a few small things wrong. These were all rectified quite quickly but I would have not expected them to happen in a hotel of this quality / price (I paid 160 Euros / night + tax + breakfast). Our part of the building was was being decorated so signs were missing and the appearance wasn't great (bear in mind the price we paid). The only real practical problem with this is that the windows were screwed shut. A couple of reception staff were snooty - and seemed impatient when I reported problems to them. The breakfast was expensive and only "OK". It is better to go to one of the cafes nearby - less expensive, more choice and better quality. This is the 2nd time we've used the Estherea and didn't quite enjoy it as much this time. We're regular visitors to Amsterdam and will probably will look for somewhere else next time.

+ A lovely hotel in an ideal spot, easy walking to everywhere in central Amsterdam. Many excellent restaurants and bars within 2 minutes walk, (there's also a good real ale bar just round the first corner!) The hotel reception is very relaxing (free filter coffee and tea available at all times together with English newspapers), very tastefully decorated and the tropical fish tank was reminiscent of Bali! Our room was small but comfortable for a long weekend, the ensuite was clean and adequate with plenty of hot water. The rooms were cleaned every day with fresh linen & towels and the hotel was generally spotless. The service was always very friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

+ Excellent breakfast, great location for access to the city and restuarants.
- sometimes a little noisy at night, returning guests and so on. also having booked a non smoking room, we had to walk through a very smoky corridor to our room and the smell permeated our room.
