+ well positioned for all the sights and attractions , friendly staff, quiet road and room, clean rooms,
- no fans or AC has a gardem which would be lovely if maintained...also has a pond which was not very plesant . non smoking was lead to belive it was a smoking hotel

+ The location couldn't be better! It takes you five minutes to go to the centre square/shopping street, but it so quiet and beautiful that you could swear it was several kiolmeters from the city! The personnel at the Hotel Hermitage is very helpful and nice (I recommend a payraise;))
- Since it was so hot during our visit, we wished that we'd had an airconditioner in the room. We had a tablefan, but to a small help.. That is the ONLY thing on the minus I can say.

- Had to swap room for the last night (Hotels fault when we booked). This wasn't too much hassle but cold of been avoided. The first room we had was at the back of the hotel and was small and very warm. The last room we had was at the front, it was a big room, big windows, a lot cooler - cant justify paying the same price for both triple rooms when one is three times the size of another. Would of been good for the Hotel to sell cold soft drinks at least.

+ -the bed is comfortable -large window and good view -staff is friendly
- -Long staircase (I lived on 3rd floor) to climb with no help. -Should give a map to help visitor to locate the hotel (only after arrival, I found there is an underground exit which is close to this hotel) -No WiFi -No electric water boiler

+ Wonderful, friendly daytime desk staff! Wonderful location - close to all in Centrum Good value! Clean.
- Windows had no screens = mosquitoes - maybe due to stagnant little pond in garden. Bring your own washcloth - hotel doesn't provide. Only 1 electrical outlet in room - need an extension cord if using more than 1 appliance and no elec outlet in bath

Hermitage Hotel is a friendly family hotel with an outstanding service. The hotel, situated in a canal house from 1733, is located on a very quiet canal in the centre of Amsterdam. Many places of interest are on the doorstep.
The staff of the Hermitage Hotel is well versed on all Amsterdam has to offer. The beautiful garden of the hotel is an oasis of peace in the lively city. Breakfast is served in the breakfast room on the 1st floor where cows are smiling down at you from the walls.
