+ The staff were very polite and friendly. In fact, the staff were wonderful. The grumpy night porter was really funny too :) We probably owe the guy a beer! I'd like to thank all the staff for a very pleasant stay, I look forward to returning. Of all the hotels I've stayed in Amsterdam, this has been by far the best, and that includes the 5* job Crown Plaza (who's only plus point was the massive restaurant and array of breakfast items that we were too tired to take advantage of anyway).
- No kettle. As an Englishman and a Tea-addict, I really missed the kettle :( Some kind of fridge would've been good too, but there's obviously a limit to what can be placed in a hotel!

+ Situation is very good. On foot you can get a lot of places. And a tram point is at a 100metres
- breakfast is no bad, bur every day is the same

Hotel Nicolaas Witsen is a nice and peaceful family hotel, ideally located in a quiet street in the centre of Amsterdam. Within 500 meters from our hotel, you will find the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh museum, the Rembrandtplein and the Leidseplein. The hotel has free wireless internet.
