Hotel Old Nickel is located in the centre of old Amsterdam. It is a small family owned hotel just a 2-minute walk from the Central Station. Because of its central location, international travelers from around the world meet at the Old Nickel for vacation or simple rest and relaxation. The multilingual staff stands ready to assist them with information about what to do during their stay in town.

The cozy bar is decorated with wood-carvings and panelling from the Captain's quarters of famed 17th century ship of Admiral Michiel de Ruyter. The bar is famous for its selection of special beers: 70 different beers are served.

+ Great location but a bit noisy with a room facing the street, but was no problem.

- The double was very small for the price. Maybe I am just use to American standards.

- we were on the top floor, thank goodness we had no disability. It certainly kept us fit. Small price to pay considering the helpful nature of great people who run this busines.

- Badly bitten by fleas. Very shabby rooms, rude barstaff. Breakfast (take it or leave it) is sliced bread and jam with an incredibly bad omlet. Great coffee though. Wiifi did not work, and the tv in room did not work. Overall poor experience.

- The party of antisocial morons (in the next room) who deceided to amuse themselves by repeatadly slamming doors in the early hours of the morning!
