+ Location was good. Bed was very comfy.
- Scaffolding outside the room which rattled noisily in the wind all night long. Other guests were very loud at times. Staff on main desk rarely acknowledge you.

+ Friendly staff, nice reception/bar area, nice room, excellent location
- Building work going on so had to have breakfast in basement which was very hot, no price reduction was given for this inconvenience.

+ Excellent location and great customer service. Everyone at the hotel was very, very friendly.
- The single rooms are pretty small and it can get a little noisy.

- Smoke alarms go off when you're having a smoke. Seems a bit too sensitive.

+ Our room was on the top floor so this was out of the noise. The lady on reception when we arrived and left was very helpful and she remebered our names when we checked out.
- The Reception was quite smoky with people sat about smoking it would be nice if this was seperate.

+ I found the staff unfailingly helpful and friendly. The hotel is well located and central
- I didn't believe the comments about the appallingly low level of lighting in the rooms until I stayed there. I cannot recommend this hotel if you need to do any work in the room, unless you bring a torch

+ 1) Its advertised as a 3 star, which I think is honest. Its a little pricey in that respect, but its close to everything you need and therefore very handy. 2) The staff are friendly and helpful and speak good English.
- 1) The foyer and hallways smelt a little stale and smokey. A bit of carpet/air freshner never goes a miss. 2) I booked a room for 2, partner and I, and initially the room was two singles in a smelly smokey room. The staff put us in a 'fresher' room with two single beds together which was better, but I would have prefered a double bed. 3) Noisy street outside.

+ The hotel is ideally situated within the centre of Amsterdam, 5 min walk from the train station and right on the door step of the red light district.
- Ground floor room with window facing street with bar directly opposite. People walking past window until very early hours and again in the morning. I have stopped in this hotel before and think that this was the only room with this problem.
