+ Style, helpfulness of staff, comfort, proximity to Vondel Park, tram access. This is possibly the best hotel I've stayed in in Amsterdam!

+ Good decor, comfortable bed
- The biggest issue for me was having to access the reception and restaurant by leaving the "annex" and walking along the road. No great distance but not pleasant when it's cold and wet.
Also, two light bulbs were not working in my room - one by the bed and one in the bathroom. It caused no great problem for me but these sort of details should not happen, nor should it be necessary for me to tell the hotel about them One bulb can go suddenly, yes, but two suggests that no-one had checked the room before I occupied it.

+ Very nice design, especially lobby and restaurant - "Tailored chic". Located on nice, quiet street near museums and high end shopping. Easy walk to Leidesplein and center.
- Rooms small, but well-designed for size.
Had trouble figuring out shower/hot water...

- The shower was amazing but the drain is in the middle of the bathroom so it floods the bathroom out!! Also it is 6 euros for a pint in the hotel!!!!!!!!!

+ On our arrival reception staff were not courteous but over our stay all other staff were more than helpful
- Check in time for 3pm is ridiculous as we had been travelling since 4am that morning. And even when we came back at 3 we were told our room was not ready.
I appreciate that the rooms have to be prepared to a certain standard but it doesn't take until 3 to have all rooms complete. Reception staff should be aware of this.
Even though we upgraded to a large double room it was still very small

+ The room was beautifully furnished, the staff were pleasant and I would tell all my friends and family to use this hotel on visits to Amsterdam.
- The door to the hotel, which is locked after hours has a bell which takes ages to work. I was stood outside for over a half an hour in the freezing rain before the night porter let me in.
