+ All the personnel were very kind and payed attention to the problems The room was nice
- No wifi connection usable. Broken lamps in the room. No heating in the room. It was cold. Electric plugs not in good conditions. Ok for the netherlandese kind of bulding, but bringin upstairs (no lift) the luggage was really difficult, even dangerous!

+ Hotels in Amsterdam are generally very expensive! As they go, though, this one provides OK value for money, considering I booked only the week before. The room was reasonably clean and beds made etc. every day. The biggest plus point was that the staff were extremely friendly and helpful! Location also excellent, close to lots of nice restaurants, Rembrandtsplein, tram & metro, etc.
- The (shared) shower room didn't drain very well, and the attachment was broken meaning you had to hold the shower head. The wireless internet was unreliable (even though the staff tried really hard to help, and offered me a wired connection in the foyer whenever I wanted it). My room was very small and, since it was on the top floor, had a sloped ceiling and very steep stairs to get there.

+ Friendly
- 1. No Sunday checkout - kind of a trap and a ripoff! 2. Hot water ran out on Sunday morning. 3. Cold.

+ For the price paid we thought the room was reasonably sized, with regular room cleaning and lovely eating facilities for breakfast etc. Tram line no.4 was right outside hotel, takes you to City centre for just 1.60 euros in 5 mins. And we could get BBC1 on the TV. :)
- A good 15/20 min trek to Amsterdam city centre. Stairs up to rooms very narrow - but all Amsterdam older hotels are!

+ Very clean and not noisy, even room was under stairs.
- That particular room were we saty was in the ground floor under ground and under stairs as well. Only one small window. That room should take away from Hotel service, even it is tidy.

+ The staff were pleasant and helpful. The location was ideal and with transport right outside the door it was very easy to find our way around.
- Our keys didnt work on the front door a couple of times which was a bit frustrating.

+ -The room was very nice, had a little B&B feel to it. -Nice location, right on a canal so you can watch the boats go by -Friendly staff
- -Price of the breakfast and what you get, paid 7 euro 50 and all there was was 2 kinds of meat, 1 kind of chesse, corn flakes and toast. -Stairway, hard to navigate a circular stairway with large bags. -Location, overall it was good but if you want to spend most of your time in the Central Station, Redlight district then its a hike. Good location though to the museums.

+ placed in a calm area!
- Yes I made a reservation, but unfotunately no1 was at the hotel as I arrived! Just cameras at the door but no1 at the reception desk, and CLOSED DOORS. So i couldn't get in the hotel I made a reservation for and therefore I will never return to this hotel. It's too far away from the center(10min.???) Not open for everybody (hello???)Is it really a hotel??? I am sorry, but I am a little upset about my reservation, because it didn't work as it should.

+ Location is EXCELLENT - tram stop (#4 line) very close, neighborhood was pretty quiet. Room was good size (for a Dutch hotel!) and was frequently cleaned; linens were plentiful, clean and frequently replenished. Stairs were quite manageable, even with heavy backpacks - unlike many other Dutch hotels! TV, phone, internet access and in-room shower/toilet were huge plusses for a 2-star establishment. The porn-o-rama on several channels was very amusing (all 3-somes all the time!) So close to Rembrandtplein and the Albert Cuypmarkt (take the 7-minute walk - the spice merchant alone is worth the effort!) there is plenty to do. Closest coffeeshop (Stix) is a 3-minute walk away. Stayed in Room #8 for 12 nights and would do it again.
- Quite expensive considering the abysmally weak dollar (over $1600 for our stay!). Breakfast spread was not worth 7.50 euros. Bed had a slight slant that tended to roll one onto the floor, but was soft enough. Also, where was the bar? Didn't see anything that resembled one in the hotel - you're best off to just duck out two doors down, there's a pub on the corner. Slightly moldy smell, but this has to be expected in a centuries-old canal house (emphasis on canal - it was right outside our window!).
