- It was terrible, nothing at all like the picture on the website, it was like a totally different hostel, a shabby youth hostel, they said they use the pictures for promotion only (the rooms are really small with small windows and no view over the channel) + very rude and unflexible service in the check-in counter

- The hotel was very expensive for what we were getting. Breakfast was meager, the towels were tiny making it inappropriate to walk to the communal bathroom in the hall. The room smelled like cigarettes and the service was not very friendly. It is in a good location but is very expensive considering what you are provided with and that nice hotels around the corner are only 10euro more.

+ We stayed in the 'box' room at the hotel, the price was ¤100 for 2 nights for 2 people. Although the room was small (like a box room ought to be)it was perfect for us and anybody who would like to stay there. It all depends on whether you would like to pay a fortune for accomodation or simply lay your head somewhere whilst getting 'wrecked' in the Dam. Very enjoyable and well priced. I will make sure that each time i stay in the Dam, i will try to book here again. Thanks. Tristen.

+ Very helpful staff. Convenient location to Leidseplein and transport elsewhere. Secure building. Clean. I'd stay there again.
- Narrow stairways a little hard to navigate with luggage. TV reception was so-so.

+ Everything else. Pretty clean room and bed, very clean shower and toilet, very helpful staff--even the breakfast was good. And all at an extremely low price, especially for the great location. Well done, King Hotel! I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.
- Very enthusiastic housekeeping staff. This is also a good thing, of course, but when they kept waking us up multiple times in a day it got a little annoying.

- The staff was very confused och not servicemined then we arrived at the hotel. I did not like to pay a deposit then we got the confrimation and that cost us extra money.(Its not your falt..) I´m self working at a hotel and a creditcard should be enouth....

+ We liked the location, in a relatively safe, quiet area (for teenagers) and beside the canal.
- We had booked a family hotel at a reasonable price but did not expect this poor quality. Rooms and fittings were sparse and in poor repair, cold and stuffy. Staff were not friendly and no service at all. One room looked out on a brick wall and my son saw a rat in the corridor one night. Dining area was cold and uncomfortable with very mediocre breakfast provided. There was nowhere to leave luggage at the end of our stay which spoiled our final day. Extremely unsatisfactory.
