- The room does not correspond at all with the description "Room description: The 6 person room contains a shower and toilet. Room with 6 single beds." : No shower in the room. It was a 2 persons room with 4 additional beds. The safety instruction in the room indicated 2 persons maximum.

+ Location was very good.
- I booked a 6 persons room for me and my friends to stay only one night. When we arrived to the hotel, the room was much more small than expected. The shower and the wc was outside and shared with another 4 rooms. In the door of the room there was an evacuation plan in case of fire. It was clearly indicated there that the room was for maximun three persons, but we were six. Of course I've yield into the reception, but they said that may was a "language" problem, because the owner of the hotel, who made the web page didn't speak english very well...very stupid explanation.

- Photo had 6 single beds and claimed private bath; reality was 3 bunk beds crammed into tiny room with dirty bath facilites on hallway. Stairs from street extremely steep and difficult to walk up and down. We complained and were "scheduled" to talk with manager--who was NEVER there at appointed time. Confirmation on 14 May described room as having shower&toilet; it did not. This hotel and room were advertised falsely and we did not have any recourse.

- The room was very small, and a small bed had been added , against the heater and the window, with almost no room left.

+ It wasn't raining inside the hotel other than that no plus points at all.
- Upon arrival we had booked a room for 4 adults and we had the confirmation e-mail proving this but we were told that they only had a room for 3. The staff would not help us to find other accommodation and were talking to each other in Chinese for an hour while we had to stand at reception and try to guess what was going on with our booking in the end we had to take the room for 2 and 2 of our friends managed to get into another hotel also the room was only just big enough for me and my companion but was supposed to be a triple room. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone ever as I have stayed in many hotels around the world and this one is abysmal for service and reliability and also customer relations

- When we booked, we made it clear that my wife was in a wheelchair, and therefore wanted a room in the first floor. When we arrived we got a room on the 4th floor. The hotel entrance had an extremely long and steep staircase, which was extremely difficult for my wife to negotiate. These conditions were appaling, and the next morning we informed the manager that we wanted to find another hotel with less stairs. He refused to let us go, unless we paid for another night due to a 24-hour cancellation rule. Thus he forced us to stay under lousy conditions. I wonder if he is proud of the 65¤ he earned that way. Furthermore, when we wanted to pay, he insisted that his visa-machine was broken and could not be repaired for 14 days - if we wanted to pay by credit card, we should go to his restaurant far away and pay there. Lies; a broken down visa-machine gets repaired within hours, and he was, of course, evading tax. Our stay in otherwise lovely Amsterdam, became overshadowed by the intolerable level of service in the Marnix hotel. Stop cooperating with them, please.

The Marnix Hotel is situated in the centre, within 200m from the Leidseplein – Amsterdams much visited entertainment area - and within 5 minutes from most museums. After a busy day in Amsterdam you deserve a peaceful and quiet night’s rest to prepare for the next day. The hotel has 21 rooms – twins and triples. Most rooms have en suite shower and toilet, but there are some with shared facilities. All rooms have a washbasin with drinking-water facility. The Marnix Hotel is a small and comfortable hotel suitable for business as well ass leisure travellers, offering rooms for attractive prices. The goal of the staff is to provide you with a clean and quiet accommodation in a friendly atmosphere.
