- Some things are too expensive eg:making telephone calls, food and drink. I did not want or need somenone who insisted on taking my bag to my room and showing me how to use things i had already worked out.

+ Great location -- close to museums and the Vondelspark.
- Croisants and coffee were not offered in the morning like they are at the Grand Krasnapolsky where we also stayed. Even though it looked as if the hotel room had recently been renovated the carpet and furniture were stained.

+ History and architecture, you can get everything else much cheaper anywhere else, you really can.
- The hotel bar and restaurant prices are extremely extortinate, we have been to Amsterdam many times over the past 20 years, admittedly not been for 6 or 7 years but the price hyke of all goods in Amsterdam is so severe we will not be returning, Amsterdam is not that great to justify such extortinate pricing . It must be the most expensive city in Europe. And the rest of Europe is becoming a lot easier to access, Thanks but no thanks!

+ The hotel is in a great location, is extremely clean, the service was great and it's perfect for groups of people. We had a fantastic stay at this hotel.

+ The servers in the restaurant were very gracious and accommodating,the food quality was good. The location was excellent.
- upon arrival at the hotel I gave my reservation number and copy of reservation from the internet to the woman at the desk, she was dismissive and relayed to me that she did not like the idea that I made the reservation ,on line. "your room is not ready" before even checking if any room was ready, told me in an unfriendly manner to sit down and wait,she then assigned rooms to three other people(NOT AMERICANS) that entered after me. When I enquired again about our room, she said," nothing available, you should check your luggage and check again later about 4 pm. No mention was made about benefits of joining NH and receiving complimentary meals. the impression was your presence is not favored here. The reservation requested a high floor and quiet room.We`were assigned the first floor,back of the hotel over the garbage dumpster.

- Over 200e/room and not even breakfast included? The bill of 20-30euros for wrong counted minibar was in Helsinki in 1 week, few postcards which was leaved to reception never came to Finland...

- I booked a superiour room but they put us in a very small room. Only after my comment we got a better room. I don't like this policy.
