- There are no coffee shops open in the early morning within reasonable walking distance and there is no coffee service without calling for room service. A lage pot with styrafoam cups for early birds would be very welcome. It can't cost the hotel that much.

+ Excellent choice of hotel which I would definitely use again. The beds are absolute heaven - huge duvets and pillows which are wonderful after a long day sightseeing. Location excellent and just 5 minutes walk from train station and close to Dam Square, shops, bars and restaurants. Hotel restaurant is expensive but well worth it.

+ Super comfortable bed, good service, good food in the downstairs restaurant, location was good as it is not far from all areas of town (within easy walking distance).
- Renovations were ongoing whilst I was there which were a bit of a nuisance, but there were no real major problems with this hotel.

+ Staff very helpful & friendly. We were able to check in early too. The room was beautiful and very clean. Less than 10mins walk from Central Station & a couple of mins to Dam Square. Would recommend this hotel to family & friends.
- The breakfast was not included in the room rate we booked & was expensive if bought seperately. We did not have breakfast in the hotel.

+ The bed was wonderfully soft and comfortable and was a pleasant retreat at the end of each day. The reception staff were EXTREMELY helpful and polite and we offer our full thanks to them in ensuring our stay in Amsterdam was successful. We can not really comment on the other facilities available in the Hotel as we did not have the opportunity to take advantage of them due to our short stay. We would not hesitate to use Sofitel again.
- I think as we were staying in a 'smoking' room (by choice) the room was maybe in need of a thorough clean eg. curtains and carpets. Although we are smokers and did our utmost to ventilate the room during our stay, there was a very strong lingering smell of smoke.
We were in a room very near the elevator which we could hear moving from our room however this wasnt too much of a hinderance as we had such a busy time in Amsterdam and were so tired from our escapdes it would probably taken an earthquake to wake us :-).
