Ibis Amsterdam City Stopera
This no nonsense, modern six story hotel belongs to the big French hotel chain Ibis, which has 700 hotels all over the world and is now a part of even bigger the multinational Accor. It is their hotel no. 3044. Ibis aim is to offer comfort for a lower price, also for the whole family. Their hotels are simple, but they offer good value for money. This is one of the four Amsterdam Ibis hotels – probably for that reason its name is so complicated.
Ibis Amsterdam City Stopera rather small, contemporary design rooms are air-conditioned, simple but comfortable. One child until 12 may stay for free parent’s room. At Ibis it means, that if you rent a 3-beds room, the child stays for free and you will be paying only the double room rate. If you travel with a baby, we suggest specifying that you request a non-smoking room and ask for a baby cot, which is again free of charge. Ibis Stopera welcomes pets, so the dog may also travel.
Breakfast at City Stopera starts at 6 a.m., but a breakfast room opens at 4 a.m. with coffee and tea, which is great if you have to leave the hotel early. Kids slept too long, did not want to wake them up? After 11 a.m. and until 12 a.m. the breakfast buffet is still open, only without warm meals as scrambled eggs and sausages. There are vending machines all over hotel with soda’s and candy bars – again very convenient with kids, who often miss something, they do not know what. In summer, you may eat your breakfast on a terrace of the hotel’s courtyard. After 6 p.m. the hotel’s restaurant - L’Estaminet opens to serve simple, but tasty French meals (until 10.30 p.m.).
At City Stopera there are special rooms for the handicapped visitors.
Nearby parking costs an Amsterdam standard of € 34,- per day.
Overall, a practical hotel at a reasonable price. Ibis Amsterdam City Stopera is centrally located – just a step from a Rembrandt House.
