NH Barbizon Palace Amsterdam

This big and luxurious five star hotel was created from several monumental old town houses. The result is that not all of the hotel’s rooms are as big and luxurious as you might expect. Nonetheless, this is a very good hotel, exceptionally complete in its facilities and renowned for its good service.

Location
NH Barbizon Palace in Amsterdam is centrally located to the left from the Central station, just across the busy Prins Hendrikkade street. The Red Light District begins just behind it, so for visitors with children the advised area to walk is Damrak and the Dam square and not the small streets adjoining directly the hotel.

Hotel Services
NH Barbizon Palace has 269 very different rooms - some of them are really beautiful, spacious with high ceiling and nice view, some are like an artist’s attic but luxuriously finished, while other rather small. The décor is Old Dutch, with a big original 17th c. group portrait painting on loan from the Amsterdam Historical Museum hanging in the exquisite hotel’s lobby as the key object. All rooms are air-conditioned, fully equipped with modern bathrooms. Some of the hotel’s rooms are made up in warm colors with luxurious, fashionable furniture - they are called Woman Style Rooms.

NH Barbizon Palace offers its guests upon arrival a Pillow Menu - you may choose the pillow you like.

The hotel has on its premises Laundry and Iron service, Hairdresser, Shoe Shine services, its own Car Park, Fitness Club, WiFi Internet, Shuttle bus to the airport. There is a surcharge for using any of these services.

Dining
NH Barbizon Palace runs two restaurants – Hudson Terrace and Restaurant is more every day place, while high cuisine Vermeer restaurant is renowned for its kitchen and its wines. The hotel has also a cozy bar called Mard-ique.

Conference facilities
The hotel runs a special business centre and has a separate conference hall in a magnificent 15th c. former St. Olofs Chapel with a gothic ceiling and huge 14 meters high windows. Additionally 14 smaller conference rooms are available. There is a special staff specialized in organizing business meetings and conferences. NH Barbizon Palace is also specialized in organizing weddings.
