With two entrances, Gespot is a canal-side diner with a sunny terrace boasting exasperating views. The interior is quite modern and hip, yet it exudes hints of the buildings original features such as beam ceiling, wooden doors and window frames dating back to the seventeenth century. These features are fused with funk tables complimented by vibrant orange couches. The restaurant itself is split into three sections. The two entrances transport you into either the main dining hall or the cocktail bar with open kitchen below. The basement is however only open from 5pm till late for cocktails, some snacks and lively music.

The kitchen offers a three-course meal which costs an average of 30 euro, but it’s equally possible to dine a la carte, where the main meal costs between 14.25 euro and 43 euro for a whole lobster. The menu changes every 2 months, while their signature dishes like Roasted Chicken or Grilled Dorado will remain. Both of these dishes are served whole, and is an experience to both see prepared and eat.

On the walls are paintings by an upcoming young Dutch artist who made them especially for Gespot. Downstairs you are welcome to see your food being prepared, most popular are the Roasted Chickens turning around on the spits.
