Restaurant Hard Rock Cafe, Amsterdam

Whether you are craving a big juicy burger or dying to see Gwen Stefani’s bra and pants, Amsterdam Hard Rock Cafe is the place for you. It’s also a good alternative to traditional Dutch lunch composed of broodjes (small sandwiches) and milk.

The restaurant-bar is located in the heart of Amsterdam, a few steps away from Leidseplein and a 10 min. walk from the Museum Quarter. Off Leidseplein between Vondelpark and Paradiso on Most of the tables offer a view on the canal and, if the sky is clear, a warm sunshine around lunch time.

The decor is rock and roll with music memorabilia hanging from ceilings and walls. The music played embraces the wide spectrum of rock music from Depeche Mode to the Used.

The staff will welcome you in English as most of them are American. The service is always friendly and efficient. It doesn’t get better than that in Amsterdam. As far as the menu is concerned, it’s pretty much the same in every HRC.

At the bar or at your table, you can choose from a large selection of drinks and cocktails. Trying to find a cocktail in Amsterdam is like looking for none-pasteurized camembert in the US. So we are all the more happy that the Hard Rock offers Cosmos, Apple Martinis, Sea Breezes or Margaritas for a more than decent price.

The food includes tasty options such as chicken wings, huge salads, all types of burgers, “BIG” sandwiches, char-grilled strip steak, fajitas or pasta.

One bitter regret though: the Amsterdam Hard Rock Cafe doesn’t serve the Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie which is part of the regular HRC’s dessert menu. It’s really too bad as the incredible pie is the restaurant’s most decadent dessert.
