Rémon’s tour through the Red Light District

18 international students from the tourism university who followed my tour:

The tour guide performed by Rémon was interesting and exceptional. The tour began with some ethical recommendations, especially not to take pictures during the visit and mostly to the girls who were working at the Red Light District, a measure taken to protect the identity of each girl.
Ramon gave precise information of each point of interest and of each subject he spooked about. He is fluent in English, the language used to communicate with the group, being very confident with him and not being confused with its ideas. He has a good voice projection, reaching each member of the group very well. He also showed a special care with the group in what concerns to the safety of it by advertising the group to take care of each ones purse or when a car or bicycle was passing. He also avoided passing by overcrowded areas, except for the thinnest street of Amsterdam.
The path taken within the Red Light District shows that he knows very well the area because the group has not passed by the same place or street twice.
He spoke about the history of this special neighbourhood of Amsterdam, about the areas in which it is divided, about the regulations taken about each girl working at the Red Light District, especially about medical and safety measures, tax regulations, rights and duties of each girl and about the political measures taken within this subject and about the measures and policies about drugs and its consumption.
Rémon showed the group the different areas of the Red Light District, as for instance the African, the Asian and the Caucasian Area, the thinnest street of Amsterdam, the first Coffee Shop of Amsterdam, the Sex Museum, and the Dancing amusement houses as the Theatre Casino Rosso. The visit ended at the Zeedijkstraat near the train station.

Markus with a group from Switzerland:

Thanks alot for your tour, it was very interesting. I think (and I belive the class does too), that you gave us a great introduction to de Red Light District. We went to RLD again and could profit from your tour, especially we knew our way around! ;) You managed to explain so that everybody (not that fluent in english) managed to understand. Thank you! Amsterdam is a wonderful and very unique city, I'm sure I haven't been there the last time. It's got so much to offer! Thanks again and have a pleasant evening. Best regards, Markus.
