Meneer Pannekoek

Amsterdam is a busy city and it is smart to make a restaurant reservation in advance. You can do so through our main Amsterdam restaurants page.

The decor is cosy and original with art nouveau lamps hanging low over the tables and black and white pictures of Hollywood stars on the walls. Non smokers will be delighted to seat in the non-smoking section which is far from being available in all Dutch restaurants.
The staff is young and friendly. You’ll probably wait a little while for your food but it’s a good sign. As opposed to pancake restaurants such as The Pancake Bakery where your food has reached your plate before you have even reached for the menu, here the pannekoeken are freshly made upon order with fresh ingredients. It doesn’t take a chef to see the difference.
If you’re not in the mood for pancakes, Meneer Pannekoek also serves sandwiches, quiche, soups, omelets, salads and warm main dishes such as steak, beef sirloin, hamburger, chicken pasta, hotchpotch or grilled salmon.
Don’t leave the place without trying a sweet pannekoek. The pear-sugar-whipped cream-almonds-chocolate sauce and the peaches-coconut-egg liqueur-sugar-whipped cream pancakes are simply unforgettable.
