Opera singer Nelly Miricioiu teaches masterclass
Grachtenfestival searches for talented young singers
During the 10th edition of the Grachtenfestival in August 2007, opera star Nelly Miricioiu will teach a masterclass from 13 -16 August in Felix Meritis in Amsterdam. Since 1982 the renowned Romanian soprano has sung many parts in belcanto operas of Rossini, Donizetti and Bellini among others. For many years Miricioiu has captured opera audiences world wide with her lyrical qualities. She has a special connection with Amsterdam, she is adored here by her fans. During the masterclass she will share her years-long experience with talented young musicians.
The masterclass is concluded with concerts on Friday 17 and Staurday 18 August.
Siren Song
Capriola Di Gioia consists of soprano Amaryllis Dieltiens, the siren from the opera 'Siren Song' and harpsichord player Bart Naessens. The ultimate masterpiece 'Die Kunst der Fuge' by Johann Sebastian Bach forms the leitmotiv of a programme in which we will also hear baroque Italian and German masters. A musical journey with desparation, a brief reverie, religious devotion, laments and finally the romanticised death of the master Bach.
Sing-a-long Baby!
Caroline Erkelens, soprano and Anne Nydam-Koene, harp, will stage a sing-a-long concert for fathers, mothers, grandfathers, grandmothers, aunts, uncles and babies! Classics from the Dutch children's song literature. Ranging from 'Wel Annemarieke, waar ga je naartoe?' to 'En we gaan nog niet naar huis'.

Shhh...it Happens! A New Breed Of Musical!
A new musical with rock as well as classical music. This adrenaline boosting musical noir, tells the story of a brother and sister who get mixed up with a bunch of out of control freaks in an abandoned theme park. The audienceis taken on a 'rollercoaster ride' from which escape seems impossible.
