Golden Tulip Amsterdam Centre

This modern middle size hotel belongs to the Dutch Golden Tulip Hotels chain. It has been built in 1996, as often in Amsterdam, by connecting several historical townhouses of the Old Town and modernizing them.

Location
Golden Tulip Amsterdam Centre is perfectly located in a small side street at the main shopping passage of Amsterdam Kalverstraat/Nieuwendijk, within a short walk distance from Amsterdam Central Station, close to Dam square and not far from the Amsterdam night life centre, Red Light District. It also has a convenient tram connection to the museums and to the RAI Congress and Exhibition Centre. All that makes the Golden Tulip Centre a good lodging if you arrive to Amsterdam for sightseeing and for business.

Hotel Services
The hotel has 239 rooms nicely decorated in warm colors. They are divided in four classes: Superior, De Luxe, Executive and Business. The best are rooms from the Business class. They offer more space with a separate don and a desk with comfortable chair and a good lamp. All rooms have good beds, bathrooms with bath and shower, minibar (surcharge), coffee and thee facilities, air-conditioning. Children up to 3 stay at no charge (maximum one child per couple), children up to 12 pay half of usual charges. Pets may stay at additional charge (€ 15,-). WiFi Internet is free. The hotel has a luggage storage room. Nearby De Kolk underground parking garage gives the hotels guests 25% discount.

Dining
The hotel has a spacey breakfast room, but no restaurant. The adjoining to the hotel restaurant Humphrey’s is open until 10 p.m. and if you show the hotel room key, your meals will be charged to your hotel bill. A small lounge in the hotel’s lobby with an open fire (working on gas) has also a tiny bar where drinks are served - a good place to relax after a busy day in the city. Breakfast is not included in the price of the room.

The hotel has three conference rooms ideal for small meetings.

The feel
Slightly tired of its own success and traffic of visitors it receives, Golden Tulip Centre remains very good value for money. It is clean, quiet, with friendly service. Do not expect anything special – it is just a good hotel.
