The history of the Cannabis World Cup

During almost 30 years, Amsterdam has been the privileged host of the famous event Cannabis World Cup. Created by Steven Hager, chief editor of High Times Magazine, this event aimed to celebrate the Cannabis culture by organising a competition, featuring experts discussions, art exhibitions, music events and special guests every year. In 2015, the Cannabis World Cup went back to its original territory and is now organised in North America's major cities all along the year

The Amsterdam Unity Cup born

Proud of being a city of freedom and tolerance, Amsterdam and its local organisations created the Unity Cup in 2015, to keep celebrating the Cannabis culture in Europe. After two years, this event tends to become the new reference of Europe's best Cannabis events.

During the Unity Cup, more than 20 of the best coffee shops in Amsterdam compete in several categories, to present their best strains to the attendants. Supervised by the Cannabis College Amsterdam. Judging is open to everyone interested in the Cannabis culture and keen to discover the best products that this beautiful city has to offer.

The votes will be done online after getting a Judge Pass and visiting the coffee shops during the period of the event.

4 nights of celebration at the Melkweg

The famous international venue Melkweg hosts the competition in its old factory concert hall. Easy to access from the always-busy Leidseplein, the Melkweg is placed in the heart of the Amsterdam's nightlife, surrounded by bars, coffee shops and clubs.

During 4 nights of music events, the Marijuana's culture lovers from Europe will be reunited to celebrate this yearly Cannabis competition, in the center of Amsterdam.

The Amsterdam Unity Cup is growing up and will be full of surprises so do not miss this unique event in Europe.
