Permits and allowed work of students in Amsterdam
Foreign students from outside the EU can either work 10 hours a week during the academic year or choose to work fulltime during summer. Before starting work they have to apply for a work permit, EU students do not need this work permit.
Key words for finding a student job in Amsterdam
There are job agencies in Amsterdam that deal specifically with student jobs, meaning jobs with flexible hours, part-time jobs, internships etc. The word for a job agency in Dutch is Uitzendbureau, so when you notice an office while passing by you might want to step in and register. Baan means job and medewerker is an employee.
