Tips

  • Amsterdam IJ Hallen Flea Market Bring a backpack or some extra bags with you to carry your purchases. Not all vendors will be able to provide a bag for that vintage coat or antique vase.
  • Bring small change – very useful for when you have negotiated a good bargain!
  • It can be cold in the warehouses, so wear some warm clothing.
  • “The early bird gets the worm”. If you are dedicated to making that special find, it’s best to come early before someone else gets it!
  • If you are after cheap sales, Sunday afternoon is the best time to shop at IJ-Hallen. Vendors usually start discounting their stock an hour before closing time, so that they don’t have to bring everything back home.
