A traditional guest house with eight luxurious suites named after painters and composers, based in a 19th century canal building at Prinsengracht 717 (hence the name), not far from the Leidseplein, Vondelpark and Rijksmuseum. Keizersgracht 164, 1015 CZ Amsterdam
This hotel is the essence of what Amsterdam boutique hotels should be like – it is small, modern, sharply designed and well serviced. The feel is eclectic and very Dutch - dark lavish satin and silk curtains, cushions, nice furniture and at the same time it is all modern with flat screens, WiFi and a modern espresso machines. Its service is attentive and discrete.
Weteringschans 136, 1017XV Amsterdam
One of the two Amsterdam hip V-hotels, this one opened only in March of 2008. Its site is in direct proximity of the Utrechtsestraat, a good shopping and dining street. A good place for Amsterdam centre hotels. The Rijksmuseum is in a short walking distance. Fireplace in the lobby, sharply designed interiors, cool atmosphere.
Professor Tulpplein 1, 1018 GX Amsterdam

Herengracht 519-525, 1017 BV Amsterdam
One of the best in town, Carlton Banks Mansion is not a per se Amsterdam family hotel - just a luxurious four star Amsterdam centre hotel at the Herengracht canal. As the hotel has been rebuilt a decade ago from a municipal office building, it is essentially modern inside, although classic in its decoration. The canal view double rooms are the best.
Valkenburgerstraat 68, 1011 LZ Amsterdam
This relatively new (built in 2000) hotel has simple, modern, air-conditioned, rather small rooms, and it is established in a short walking distance from all main tourist attractions, including Amsterdam ZOO. Its main values are good service, moderate rates and specifically the Ibis Stopera strict rule; that a child until 12 stays free in the parent’s room which makes it an excelent Amsterdam family hotel. At Ibis it means, that if you rent a 3-beds room, the child stays free and you will be paying only the double room rate.

A three star hotel with some rooms small and not most conveniant, but because of its prices, service it offers and an excellent location at the Amstel River, this cheap Amsterdam hotel is valued by a traveler on a budget. This Amsterdam centre hotel has also a new modern lobby, is fully air-conditioned, and has its own restaurant. A popular low cost hotel.

Upon your arrival, you may just walk to Hotel des Arts, rolling your luggage through one of the liveliest streets in Amsterdam.
Plantage Middenlaan 17, 1018 DA Amsterdam
A quiet, simple hotel. Not exactly an Amsterdam centre hotel, set in the Artis ZOO area, but if you mind to walk for just 10 minutes to the heart of old town, there is a tram stop almost in front of the hotel. Hotel Rembrandt rooms are well equipped, with cable TV showing also channels in English. Do not confuse Hotel Rembrandt with three other hotels in Amsterdam bearing Rembrandt’s name, as they are all more expensive.
Stationplein 49, 1012 AB Amsterdam
Placed on the Station Island, with its buildings adjoining to the station, the three star Amsterdam Ibis Centre is in this aspect unique. Marnixstraat 415, 1017 PK Amsterdam
Hotel la Boheme is a charmingly small and friendly 2 star hotel, just off the busy night spot of Leidesplein. Central as it is though, Hotel le Boheme has a very different feel to many Amsterdam centre hotels.
